The Great Catsby joined Gallery Bookshop in the fall of 2012. He was seen wandering on the streets of a neighboring town, darting in and out of businesses. One day, he found a car with an open window and hitchhiked (without the driver's knowledge) to the village of Mendocino. There, he was picked up by a friend of the bookshop and offered the job of bookstore cat. His duties include sleeping atop card racks, greeting dogs with a glare and a flick of his tail, and occasionally allowing customers to scratch him behind the ears. He can usually be found sitting in the window, warming himself in a patch of sunlight.

Some of My Favorite Books:

Sneakers is a plump and handsome black and white cat (just like me)! As he explore the seaside for the first time, his adventures are beautifully illustrated. This book is another favorite from Margaret Wise Brown.

This hilariously grumpy cat absolutely does not want to cuddle and he is not going to change his mind -- or will he?
Kevin is a spunky, independent cat who does not want a pat. He does not want a tickle. And he certainly does not want to cuddle. All Kevin wants is to be left ALONE.
This alphabet book will teach you everything you need to know about the important duties and responsabilites of being a bookstore cat.
I highly recommed that all my fans read this book and adopt a higher degree of adoration for me (and other cats too, I guess).

You didn't think I only read books about cats, did you? I have a lot of time to myself in shop at night, and sometimes, yes, I also like to read long, postmodern, stream-of-conscious literary novels.

This is the purrrfect counting book, in my humble opinion. For all future cat lovers.

Based on a true story. NYC composer and pianist Moshe Cotel adopts a stray kitten. When Moshe needs and entry for a music competition no longer than one minute, the kitten steps in a composes a piece by walking across the piano keys. CATS ARE SO SMART!

This is me, all day and all night in the bookshop.
